Sensis Corp. Appointments

Sensis Corp., of Syracuse, N.Y., named Marc Viggiano chief operating officer. Viggiano was most recently senior vice president and chief strategy officer. In his new role, Viggiano is responsible for Sensis Corp. operating areas including Air Traffic Systems, Defense & Security Systems, Advanced Development and Operations. The company also named Vice Admiral (Ret.) John G. Morgan, Jr. to succeed Viggiano as senior vice president and chief strategy officer. As CSO, Morgan is responsible for strategic direction, identifying new opportunities for growth and engaging in new ventures.

Steven Zaidman

Steven Zaidman, former FAA vice president of technical operations, joined the staff of Noblis, a nonprofit science, technology and strategy organization, as director of transportation systems concepts and planning. Zaidman jointed FAA in 1968 and served in several leadership roles, as associate administrator for research and acquisitions; director of systems engineering; deputy director for the Office of Communications, Navigation and Surveillance; director of research and development and operations research; and manager, International Aviation Division. He served three years as deputy director of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

EMS Technologies Appointments

EMS Technologies, Norcross, Ga., named Gary Hebb vice president of Innovation and Strategy. Hebb was most recently general manager of EMS Technologies’ Satcom division. Earlier, he was vice president of engineering and business development at EMS Satcom. He joined EMS Satcom as a satellite modem designer in 1990. Replacing Hebb as EMS Satcom’s general manager will be Joanne Walker, who has worked nearly two decades for EMS’s Ottawa division, and most recently was corporate vice president of Business Operations. Walker joined the company in 1990, and has held roles in manufacturing, supply chain management and operations.

Elbit Systems Appointments

Elbit Systems Ltd., of Haifa, Israel, named Adi Dar general manager of Elbit Systems Electro-Optics Elop Ltd. Dar replaced Haim Rousso, who became Elbit Systems Ltd., executive vice president for engineering and technology excellence. Dar served as Elop’s vice president for business development since 2006. He joined Elbit in 2002. Before Elbit, Dar was with Elron Telesoft Ltd., and was a career officer in the Israel Defense Forces. Rousso has served in management positions at Elop for the past 36 years, and had the title of general manager since 2000.

David Rome

Metron Aviation, of Dulles, Va., named David Rome manager of Global ATM. Rome was most recently manager of international operations at Nav Canada. Previously, Rome helped develop routes through southern Canadian airspace in collaboration with FAA, airlines and the adjacent air-traffic control centers. He served as chairman of the North American/European ATFM Work Group, a member of the ICAO NAT Implementation Management Group, the Cross Polar Work group and Air Traffic Management Group.

Patrick Antkowiak

Northrop Grumman promoted Patrick M. Antkowiak to vice president of strategy and capability for the Electronic Systems engineering, manufacturing and logistics organization. Antkowiak joined the company in 1981 and has held a variety of positions in engineering, program management and product development. In 1992, he served as engineering manager and product development team leader for the Comanche helicopter mission computer program. He later was named program manager for Space-Based Radar and space technology development programs. Most recently, Antkowiak was director of space systems in the company’s Advanced Concepts & Technologies Division.

Crane Aerospace Appointments

Crane Aerospace & Electronics appointed Charles "Bud" Jewett as business development director for the Electronics Group. Jewett will be responsible for strategic business relationships, partnerships and new business development. He is based in Annapolis, Md. Before joining Crane Aerospace, Jewett worked in business development with Harris Government Communications Systems, where his focus included U.S. Navy communications, datalinks and networking. Jewett is a retired U.S. Navy captain with 30 years of experience as a naval flight officer. Crane Aerospace also named Brian Barrett director of repair and overhaul for the Aerospace Group, located in Burbank, Calif. Before joining the company, Barrett spent nine years with the Triumph Group, most recently as division president for the Valencia, Calif., site of Triumph Actuation Systems. Before that, Barrett was director of aftermarket services business development for Curtiss Wright Flight Controls and director of aftermarket for Menasco Landing Gear Overhaul Division.
