The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) and the Civil Aviation Department of Hong Kong, China have expanded their aircraft maintenance MOU that allows both agencies to recognize each other’s approvals issued to MRO providers. Originally signed in December 2004, the MOU covers maintenance on airframes, components and engines. CAAS Director-General & CEO Lim Kim Choon says the enhanced agreement will benefit both Singapore and Hong Kong’s aerospace industries “by paving the way for new business opportunities and augmenting efficiency in regulation of aircraft maintenance.” According to CAAS, more than 75 MROs will benefit from the revised MOU.
