Maintenance Joint Venture Founded

Finnair and Finncomm Airlines have launched a 50/50 joint venture, Finnish Aircraft Maintenance (FAM), which will provide maintenance on regional aircraft. FAM began operations at Helsinki-Vantaa Airport in Vantaa, Finland in August, after the country's Civil Aviation Authority awarded a license to the company to work on ATR turboprops and Embraer 145 regional jets. Construction on a new maintenance hangar is planned to start in spring 2009 and the joint venture will create up to 60 jobs.
