Spectrum Receives Fleet Order from Jetpool

Charlotte, N.C.–based Jetpool placed “a significant fleet order” for Spectrum’s Independence model S-33 and Freedom model S-40 business jets. However, neither party set the number of aircraft or the value of the deal. Spectrum Aeronautical, headquartered in Carlsbad, Calif. with its development center located in Spanish Fork, Utah, is developing two jets: the Freedom, a nine-place, mid-sized jet, scheduled for certification and first deliveries in 2009 and the Independence, an eight-place light jet, scheduled for certification and initial deliveries during 2010. Both aircraft feature the company’s signature fibeX (TM) composite material technology, resulting in empty weights that are about 40 percent lower than comparably sized aluminum aircraft. The light weight, combined with efficient next-generation fanjet engines, allows significant reduction in fuel consumption and emission of green-house gasses.
