September 5, 2008 USCG HH-65 Crashes Off Hawaii
The Eurocopter Dolphin with four crewmembers on board crashed 6 mi off Sand Island, near Honolulu International Airport, at about 2015 local time last night while conducting general search-and-rescue drills. Rescuers found three crewmembers; the Coast Guard declined to describe their condition. The fourth crewmember was missing. For related news Simplex Opens Service Center in Japan
The Portland, Ore.-based maker of helicopter aerial application systems and mission equipment has designated Santoku Aviation Electric, Inc. of Tokyo as an authorized service center for its products.
