Chinese Aviation Show Expecting Big Helo Sales

Planners for the government-sponsored 7th annual China International Aviation and Aerospace Exhibition, scheduled for Nov. 4-9 in the country’s Guangdong Province, are expecting the event to be the scene of brisk helicopter purchases. Chinese officials report that there are only 400 public service helicopters currently in use in country, but in an environment they described in a press release as “…the fastest-growing market in the world,” 1,600 helicopters are expected to be purchased by 2010. Several helicopter companies and rotorcraft equipment suppliers are expected to exhibit there, including Boeing, Pratt & Whitney, Rolls Royce and Sikorsky. For related new
