Brazilian, U.S. Firms to Service Helos

Brazilian-based Sierra Aeronáutica and U.S.-based Texas Aviation Services (TAS), formed a partnership to support Brazilian helicopter clients, unveiling it at LABACE in Brazil. The companies are trying to catch up with the completions and customizing backlogs for, mainly, the VIP market. TAS is a Brazilian ANAC-certified repair station, so helicopters that are delivered from the U.S. to Brazil are already registered and approved by the Brazilian aviation authority, removing delays normally found with typical entry and customs procedures. TAS has a 140,000-sq-ft facility in Fort Worth, Texas and specializes in civilian and military helicopter completions, retrofits, MRO, avionics systems integration, interiors, paint, component overhaul and engineering for Bells, Eurocopters, AgustaWestlands and Sikorskys.
