Rotorcraft Report: Firm Tailors Safety Audits For Helicopter Operations

Aviation Research Group/U.S. has written a series of standards for on-site safety audits that are specific to helicopter operators, according to the company.

ARG/US provides real-time information, advice, and proprietary data products focused primarily on safety reports for Part 135 charter companies, aircraft operating cost reports, and market research.

Established in commercial and business-jet markets, it is expanding into rotorcraft ones.

"Although we are a new entrant in the helicopter segment," the company’s founder and president, Joseph Moeggenberg, said, "we see a safety culture that is growing quickly."

ARG/US is headquartered in Cincinnati and has offices in Doylestown, Pa.

The ARG/US helicopter series starts with requirements common to virtually all types of operations and all types of helicopters. It also has a line of additional standards designed to be of particular use to air medical, electronic newsgathering, utility, offshore, law enforcement, and corporate or charter operations.

Moeggenberg said he’s already seen interest from hospital operators seeking to verify their safety and compliance programs via a third party.
