Goodrich to Supply CH-53K Drive Shaft System

Sikorsky Aircraft has selected Goodrich Corp. to supply the input and tail drive shaft system for the CH-53K being developed for the U.S. Marine Corps. The system consists of diaphragm couplings, shaft assemblies, bearing hangars, a disconnect mechanism, and associated hardware. The Marines expect to take delivery of 227 CH-53Ks between 2014-2022. The original order was 156 to replace the shrinking fleet of CH-53Es. Goodrich also supplies the input drive couplings for Sikorsky on H-60 Black Hawk/Sea Hawk aircraft, the input couplings, tail couplings, and tail shaft on the S-92, and has recently been selected to supply the input drive shafts for the S-76D.
