Indian JV to Produce S-92 Components

Sikorsky Aircraft is teaming with Tata Advanced Systems Ltd. (TASL) to establish a joint venture that will focus on making aircraft components in India, including for S-92 interiors. The JV adds to a contract signed in June for TASL to assemble S-92 cabins. Construction is ongoing at the Tata facility in Hyderabad, where cabin assembly is expected to begin in late 2010. The JV will manufacture components for Sikorsky and other OEMs from a second building at the Hyderabad complex, with opening targeted for 2011 and production starting in 2012.
